Our Work

Our Work for Wildlife and Nature

For over 30 years, CIWY has been on the frontline of the fight to protect Bolivia’s wildlife, to restore the ecosystems they depend on, and to educate the future generations that will protect them.

Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation, Care and Release

For over 30 years, CIWY has been rescuing Bolivian wildlife that has fallen victim to the illegal pet trade, trafficking and habitat loss, giving these animals a second chance through rehabilitation, long-term care and, where possible, release into the wild.

Environmental Education and Community Outreach

Education is a core pillar of CIWY’s work.

Scientific Research and Conservation

CIWY promotes scientific research as a key tool in addressing habitat destruction, illegal wildlife trafficking and species decline.

Wildfire Prevention, Monitoring and Response

Through careful monitoring of wildfires, preventative strategies, direct firefighting and habitat restoration, CIWY works to protect its sanctuaries, the surrounding jungle and the animals that depend on these ecosystems.

Why Wildlife Protection Matters

Why Bolivia’s wildlife needs a sanctuary: trafficking, fires and a law that is rarely enforced.
