For over 30 years, CIWY has been on the frontline of the fight to protect Bolivia’s wildlife, to restore the ecosystems they depend on, and to educate the future generations that will protect them.
CIWY’s Missions
Wildlife Rescue, Rehabilitation & Care
Our main objective is to rescue, rehabilitate and care for wildlife that has fallen victim to illegal trafficking, possession and habitat loss. Where it is safe and possible, animals are prepared for release back into the wild — for the others, we provide the best possible quality of life in a natural environment.

Wildfire Prevention, Monitoring & Response
We monitor, prevent and fight forest fires in the Bolivian Amazon and rehabilitate wildlife affected by burns and smoke. Our work spans firebreaks and patrols, rapid response with trained teams, and post-fire restoration.
