Dana’s Story

Dana arrived at CIWY’s Ambue Ari sanctuary as a victim of illegal wildlife trafficking, transferred from the CAD in Santa Cruz. After a difficult beginning, she is now safe and thriving in the forest while we continue working to build her a permanent enclosure to support her long-term wellbeing. None of this would be possible without the Guardians of the Forest campaign, led by Alas Chiquitanas and Fundación Socioambiental Semilla, with support from CBN and Casa Ideas.

Since arriving in June 2025, Dana has completely charmed our team. She is strong-willed, full of energy, and wonderfully playful. She enjoys exploring her humid jungle enclosure, splashing in her pool, chasing toys along her runner line, and taking very long naps.

Every contribution helps provide Dana with care, enrichment, and the safe forest home she deserves—giving her the chance to run, play, and simply be an ocelot again.
